Department of Public Health State Health Assessment
Public Health. Every Page, Every Chart, Every Detail.
This one was no small undertaking. The 2023 South Carolina State Health Assessment is a 432-page comprehensive publication compiling population health data across the full lifespan — from maternal and infant health to healthy aging — covering health outcomes, behaviors, and factors that shape the lives of South Carolinians statewide. ADCO handled the complete design, produced hundreds of charts and graphs, and invested thousands of hours in meticulous proofreading and editing to ensure every data point was accurate, accessible, and beautifully presented. The Assessment then serves as the foundation for the State Health Improvement Plan — a statewide strategic roadmap developed in collaboration with state agencies, public health entities, healthcare providers, community organizations, and key partners to address South Carolina’s most pressing health challenges across nine priority areas. Together, these two documents represent some of the most important public health work in the state — and we’re proud to have had a hand in bringing them to life.
